About Beavers

The Beaver Section is for young people, usually aged between 6 and 8 years. A young person can join the Colony at 5 ½ and may stay until they are 8 ½ years old. The Beaver Scout Colony is the first and youngest Section in the Scout Group.
Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. They usually meet together once a week in a Beaver Scout Colony.
They usually meet weekly to take part in a wide range of activities including games, crafts, singing, visits and good turns, along with plenty of outdoor activities. They will also have the opportunity to take part in the fun and excitement of camps and sleepovers. It may be the first time they spend a night away from home so it’s a real adventure for them.
At 5th Lichfield [Holy Cross] Scout Group we have one Beaver Scout Colony meeting on a Tuesday evening at St Joseph’s RC Primary School, Cherry Orchard. The meeting starts at 5.30pm and finishes at 6.45pm. We like everyone to have arrived and ready to start by 5.25pm. We always meet in full uniform unless otherwise specified.
