Scouting Skills
A Complete Guide to Scouting Skills, introduced by Chief Scout, Bear Grylls, received its high street launch on 4 March 2010. The full colour hardback contains over 200 pages of practical advice from navigating by the stars to identifying wildlife; packing a rucksack to building a shelter.
The book published by Doubleday was written by author Jacqui Bailey, in close collaboration with Scouting experts and is fully endorsed by The Scout Association.
This is the outdoor handbook brought to you by the people who wrote the rules, the Chief Scout writes in his introduction. With input from Scout leaders, the book uses Scoutings 100 years of experience of the outdoors to inspire new adventures.
The book is ideal both for adults and young people, and will have something to offer to beginners and experts alike. Into this book we crammed the best and most useful skills you should have learned but never got round to, or once knew but have now forgotten.
