How and when to make your subscription payments

As a Scouting organisation we aim to provide a high standard of care for your children including the provision of well maintained facilities and equipment, provision of leader training, trips out and insurance for both leaders and children. The subs that you pay each quarter help us meet these aims.

For each child you must pay a subscription to be a member of the Group. The current subscription rate is £25.00 per quarter payable on 1st January, 1st April, 1st July and 1st October. In return for the high standard of service that we provide your children we expect that subscriptions are paid in a timely fashion and without having to chase payments from quarter to quarter.

We do provide you with several methods of payment to make life as simple as possible as we do realise that with the busy lives we lead, payments can be forgotten from time to time.

Payment methods available

The following payment methods are available.

Our preferred methods are Standing Order, Internet Banking and PayPal. These methods are quick and easy to set up and you are still in full control of your payments.
Standing Order	This is our preferred method. Just pop down to your bank and give them our bank details - one standing order per child please as it is easier for you to cancel once your child leaves the group. Please quote child's name and date of birth e.g. J SMITH 17/06/99. Please request our account details to pay by standing order and we will send them back to you via a pdf file. When requesting, please let us know your child's name for security. Payments by standing order Saves you having to remember to pay your subs Saves the leaders having to collect and store cheques and cash Saves on leader administration time Payments leave your account on any day you choose in the month You can cancel the Standing Order at any time by informing your bank not to make any more payments.
Bank Transfer	You can do this via internet banking. Please quote child's name and date of birth e.g. J SMITH 17/06/99. You may pay for more than one child using this method. Please request our account details to pay by standing order and we will send them back to you via a pdf file. When requesting, please let us know your child's name for security.
PayPal	Payment by PayPal is easy and convenient and allows you to pay by Credit Card. Please make payments to payments@5thlichfield.co.uk. Please quote child's name and date of birth e.g. J SMITH 17/06/99 once you get to the PayPal payment screen. You may pay for more than one child using this method. Just click on the button below to pay by PayPal. You don't even have to have a PayPal account, just a credit card.
We would like to phase out subscription payments by cheque and cash. Why? As we are Gift Aid registered HM Revenue & Customs require us to keep an auditable record of subscription transactions and this is difficult with cheques and cash.
Cheque	Should be crossed and made payable to "5th Lichfield Scout Group". These should be posted to the treasurer. Please quote child's name and date of birth e.g. J SMITH 17/06/99. You may pay for more than one child using this method.
Cash	This method of payment should not be used if at all possible. If you have absolutley no choice then please pass your subscription payment to your section leader.

Gift Aid

We are registered under the Government's Gift Aid scheme. Using Gift Aid means that for every pound you give in subscription payments, we currently receive an extra 28 pence from the Inland Revenue, helping your member subscriptions go further.

This means that your £25.00 subsciption can be turned into £32.00 with a wave of the Chancellor's magic wand, just so long as your subscriptions are made through the Gift Aid scheme. Imagine what a difference that could make and it does not cost you a penny!
