Beavers Section Meeting on Tuesday 9 February 2010.
After the opening ceremony and a quick game, the Beavers prepared, chose and produced their very own sandwich. Even though the Beavers are 6 - 8 Years, most enjoy the opportunity of using the kitchen equipment.
Browse the photos of the Beavers preparing, choosing and produced their very own sandwich, ''with chocolate''! All children seem to enjoy this activity.

Some Beavers already have the Healthy Eating Badge, in view of this we built on their knowledge by providing another activity which is celebrated on Shrove Tuesday, we asked the Beavers why we celebrate Shrove Tuesday. Aka Pancake Day. Pancake Day (also known as Shrove Tuesday) is the last day before the period called Lent. Lent is a time of abstinence, of giving something up. So Shrove Tuesday is the opportunity to use up all perishable food. Shrove Tuesday is celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday and is therefore the final day before the commencement of Lent, a Christian festival leading up to Easter Sunday. Shrove Tuesday always falls 47 days before Easter Sunday, so the date varies from year to year and falls between 3 February and 9 March. The name Shrove comes from the old word "shrive" which means to confess. On Shrove Tuesday, in the Middle Ages, people used to confess their sins so that they were forgiven before the season of Lent began.
These Beavers prepared, mixed and cooked Pancakes to be tasted by all Beavers. Even though the Beavers are 6 - 8 Years, most enjoyed the opportunity of using the kitchen equipment.

Now, after you make Sandwiches there is only one thing to do and that is eat them but we only have one criteria and that is all Beavers sit down at tables.
