On the evening of Friday 18 September, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts departed Holy Cross Parish Hall to John Lee's Wood Scout Camp Site in Markfield, Leicester for an action packed weekend. All children who attended the Group Camp participated in Climbing, Abseiling, Caving, Air Rifle Shooting, Backwoods Cooking, Archery, Bivouacking and the Assault Course. What a fantastic weekend and good fun was had by all including the leaders and parent helpers. Please browse the photos below:

The Camp Fire
Sunday Morning after Breakfast and Kit Inspection - If you ever wondered what kit inspection consists of then, each young person lays all their belongings on their Sleeping Bag in the shape of a body. We leave the Scouts t teach the Beavers and Cubs the art of Fire Building and Lighting. What we going to cook asked a Beaver?

Beavers, Cubs and Scouts cooking Twists over an open fire. We call this Backwoods Cooking, as no utensils are used. The Twists are wrapped around sticks, which have been shaved of the bark. If you can answer this Question, then mentioned it to your section leaders. When cooking on an open fire, what part of the fire do we cook our food?

No, The End of Group Camp 2009. We aim to Camp as a Scout Group every Two Years. Thats Beaver thru to Scouts. Each Section will take the children on residential experiences each year as a sectional camp.
