About our Group

The 5th were formed as a group in 1961 and have had many children pass through our doors. Some of them are still with us as leaders! We meet at the Parish hall behind Holy Cross Catholic Church on Chapel Lane.

The Group is an 'Open Sponsored Group'. This means that we are not sponsored by any particular church or organisation and will take children from ALL backgrounds regardless of creed, colour or gender. The facilities at Holy Cross are supplied free of charge by the Holy Cross parish.

We have three thriving sections

Beavers - for children aged from 6 - 8 years
Cubs - for children aged 8 - 10 1/2 years
Scouts - for children aged 10 1/2 to 14 years.

When they reach 14 years old they can join Explorer Scouts which is based at District level. The Explorer unit in Lichfield is very popular indeed and takes children from all over the Lichfield district. Why Read more about Lichfield Explorers.
